I did however find out that there were a lot of changes I had to make to my life to accomodate the new level of modesty as well as practical issues. Over the next few weeks I'll be discussing some of the problems new hijabis have and will be trying to resolve issues for you. Please fell free to email me with your suggestions for topics you wish to discuss and tips and suggestions for sisters at cityhijabi [at] hotmail. co. uk
Hair Loss
Many non-hijabis think that wearing hijab contributes to hair loss. In actual fact there could be a number of reasons causing the hair loss- including medical reasons.

A woman's hair will sheds about 100 strands a day on average. Even with hijab on this will still occur- but your hijab is keeping the strands close to your head and your ponytail/bun/plait etc will stop them actually falling out until the end of the day when you brush or wash your hair.
I would love to hear from readers who have experienced this themselves and can give tips on how to prevent hair loss/dryness and other damage from occurring.
